The Patron range draws influence from an era when road cyclists wore watches as part of their race-tday attire.
Aeons when teams and Patrons manoeuvred through the mountains and roads of Europe with analogue instruments strapped to their wrists.
Watches stand as halcyon symbols of road cycling design and function: tracking live race time and splits in the heat of battle provided a pivotal advantage for riders and Directeur Sportifs: the difference between the podium and a burgeoning Palmarès, or the empty seat of the team car.
Patron, by Alludens, was born in The Dolomites; a mountain bar in Bormio, floor to ceiling with pictures of riders, all wearing watches, evoked the idea to re-imagine a watch inspired by road cycling.
What would an elegant sporting watch look like for riders of today?
There is a synergy between bike building and watch making; blending style and form, always with the aim of dialling ergonomics and comfort.
Under the Alludens Sporting Elegance narrative we wanted to master a watch that speaks to the vanguard cycling firmament and to those that revere the elegant, classic side of road cycling and product design.
As riders ourselves, we know intrinsically the race timing complications of an analogue sporting watch are obsolete, and in this vein, want to distance Alludens from traditional sporting watch precepts. The focus, instead, to advocate a new direction of uncomplicated sporting aesthetic.
The result is an elegant sporting watch with a classic lineage, that can be worn on the bike or in the clubhouse.
